Blogging Mentorship Project
For this project I chose to follow Lisa Parisi’s class. I commented on her students’ blog a few times a week. I was however, disappointed that none of them ever responded to my comments. I did find it amazing though, how those kids, at such a young age were able to blog like that. They were much better than me! I think it would be neat to have a classroom of kids I am teaching, be able to feel comfortable blogging like this. Some examples of my comments on student blogs are:
One girl wrote: Do you know how to swim? Well I do! But I still have to go to swimming classes to touch up on my sklls. Well if you have any thoughts please comment and leave your URL!
And I commented with: Swimming is great!! I can’t wait until summer time when it is hot enough to swim outside!! Great blog Melinda!
Another student wrote about her love for piano and I responded with: That’s great that you have found something you are so passionate about! Right now I am learning to be a teacher of Arts Education and Music is an area I wish I was stronger in. Good Luck and don’t give up!
One little boy wrote about how much he loves eating at Red Lobster and I wrote: Wow sounds like you really like seafood! That is also my favorite food and I love eating at Red Lobster! I also notice that you say you like fishing, do you live by the ocean?
Even though none of the students responded I’m sure they appreciated my comments, because after all who doesn’t like it when their blog gets comments!!!
